Jack Howard plays trumpet with Hunters & Collectors and along the way he’s played with acts like The Violent Femmes, Rodriguez, You Am I, The Living End and many more. In 2017, he toured the world with Midnight Oil as their multi-instrumentalist. He’s been described as “one of the great quiet achievers of Australian music.”
Jack Howard and his splendid Ambassadors Of Love have been thrilling and moving crowds with their Bacharach and Beyond show for the last ten years. This will be their first time at George Lane, and with the recent passing of Burt Bacharach, the band will be paying a very special tribute to the great man with a performance in full of his classic Reach Out album. The band’s journey began at Pure Pop Records all those years ago with an unforgettable show where they played the record start to finish. So much heart and soul and so many tears that night!
With two sets full to the brim of Bacharach and David classics like The Look Of Love, Say A Little Prayer, Alfie and so many more; plus the great sophisticated songs of the era from acts like Jimmy Webb and The Carpenters and even Elvis, Jack and the Ambassadors will have you dancing, crying and singing along – possibly all at the same time!
With the fabulous Michael sisters, Heather and Marj, on lead vocals and flute and violin, Jack on vocals and trumpet, John Berto on guitar and vocal, Amy Valent Curlis on vibes and percussion, Greg Murray on drums and Rob Walker on bass, the band is all class and all heart.
